Los alumnos de la Institución Educativa “San Pedro Claver” de Apartadó (Colombia), que trabajan en el proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, realizaron un taller de reciclado, en que participaron también sus familias. En este taller se hicieron iguanas de juguete. La iguana es un animal insignia de la zona de Uraba que se encuentra en vía de extinción. Con esta actividad se quiere, por un lado, concienciar a niños y familias de la necesidad de proteger este animal autóctono y, por otro, potenciar el reciclado y la reutilización de materiales para proteger así nuestro medioambiente.

The students of the Educational Institution "San Pedro Claver" from Apartadó (Colombia), members of the project DREAMS OF GAIA, have made a recycling workshop, on which even their families took part. In this workshop some iguana toys were made. The iguana is a symbolic animal in Uraba, which is currently endangered. With this activity the students want, on one hand, make both the children and their families aware of the need of protecting this native animal and, on the other hand, promote the recycling and the reusing of materials in order to protect our environment.

Los niños y niñas del Centro de Educación Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), del grupo de CHIQUI GAIA, siguen con sus actividades de reciclado. En esta ocasión han hecho caretas para una fiesta con periódicos viejos, que después pintaron. Los niños aprenden que todas las cosas pueden tener una segunda vida y que así protegemos la Naturaleza.

The children of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), members of the group CHIQUI GAIA, keep on their recycling activites. At this time they have made some masks for a party using old newspapers, which were painted after. The kids learn that all the things could have a second life and, by this way, they protect the Nature.

Los niños y niñas de CHIQUI GAIA, del Centro de Educación Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) para celebrar el Día Mundial del Medioambiente han plantado unas semillas que van a cuidar en un pequeño semillero. De esta forma, toman responsabilidad en el cuidado de la Naturaleza.

The boys and girls of CHIQUI GAIA, students of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) have planted some seeds they are going to care in a little pot, in order to celebrate the World Environment Day. By this way, they have took responsibility for the care of Nature.

El grupo de niños y niñas de la asociación Acción Solidaria de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), que trabaja en LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, preparó una exposición de los trabajo realizados y una muestra de cómo se puede, desde los hogares, trabajar por la Naturaleza. Además, prepararon juegos, con materiales reciclados, para que todos los asistentes pudieran disfrutar. A esta exposición y juegos fueron invitadas las familias y amigos, que pasaron una tarde muy divertida.

The group of children of the Asociation "Acción Solidaria" from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of DREAMS OF GAIA, prepared an exposition of the work done and an explample of how work for Nature is possible from home. Therefore, they prepared games with recycled materials, in order that all the people could enjoy. The families and friends of the children were invited to this exposition and games, and they had a great time.

El grupo de la Escuela Primaria “Miguel Hidalgo” de Oaxaca (México), de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, ha preparado unos carteles para promover el reciclaje y el cuidado del medioambiente entre los demás compañeros del colegio. Después, los han colgado en su colegio y en su museo del reciclaje.

The group DREAMS OF GAIA of the Elementary School "Miguel Hildago" from Oaxaca (Mexico) have prepared some posters to promote the recycling and care about the environment among their classmates. After that, they hanged them both in their school and their recycling museum.

Los niños y niñas de la Institución Educativa Currulao (Colombia), que trabajan en el proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, han creado el "Jardín de Gaia", que es su aporte a la iniciativa "Haz un gesto por el planeta", donde algunos de los estudiantes del grado 5º de la institución, en compañía de los participantes del proyecto, prepararon un espacio para este jardín, al que han llamado “pulmoncito”.

The children of the Educational Institution Currulao (Colombia), members of our project DREAMS OF GAIA, have created the "Gaia´s garden", which is their input to our initiative "Do a gesture for the planet"; some of the 5º students, with their participant classmates, prepared a space to this garden, which is called "little lung".

Los niños y niñas de la Institución Educativa Currulao (Colombia), de nuestro proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, han desarrollado un taller para la elaboración de carteles alusivos al cuidado del medioambiente, llamado "Dale un vistazo a tu ambiente", en el que cada niño participante plasmó su idea para cuidar y mejorar la Naturaleza. Después estos carteles se pegaron por diferentes partes del colegio.

The children of the Educational Institution Currulao (Colombia), members of our project DREAMS OF GAIA, have developed a workshop to make some posters related to the care of the environment, called "Take a look at your environment," on which each participant child reflected their idea to take care for Nature. Then these posters were pasted in different parts of the school.

Los niños y niñas del colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe (Sevilla) prepararon una gymkana de juegos con elementos reciclados. Primero diseñaron entre todos los elementos y las pruebas y después

los hicieron. Además, trabajaron el “Respeto a las personas” con juegos cooperativos.

The boys and girls of the school "El Olivo" from Mairena del Aljarafe (Seville) prepared a gymkhana with recycled elements. First of all, they all designed the elements and the proofs, and after that, they did the gymkhana itself. Also, they learned about "Respect to people" with cooperative games.

Nuestro grupo de la Escuela de Enseñanza Primaria nº 665 “José Eusebio Colombres” de Santa Sylvina (Argentina) sigue trabajando.

Por un lado, continúan con sus talleres de Reciclado, fabricando móviles con bandejas de “telgopor”, CD en desuso, papeles de revistas, de galletitas, caramelos o cigarrillos(papeles con brillos metalizados), palitos, hilos...

Por otro lado, en su Taller de Lectura están leyendo leyendas bolivianas, para seguir conociendo cada día un poco más sobre nuestros amigos de los demás países participantes en nuestra iniciativa educativa.

Our group of the Elementary School nº 665 “José Eusebio Colombres” from Santa Sylvina (Argentina) keep working!

On one hand, they carry on their Recycling Workshops, making mobile phones with “telgopor” trays, CD into abeyance, magazine papers, cookies papers, sweets or cigarretes (papers with metallic glitter), sticks, threads...

On the other hand, they read Bolivian legends in their Reading Workshop, to know more about our friends of the participant other countries in our educative initiative everyday.

Los niños y niñas de la Escuela Primaria Miguel Hidalgo de Oaxaca (México) que trabajan en LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, han trabajado en un taller medioambiental en el que han preparado “compost” (abono

orgánico hecho con desechos) con desechos orgánicos para extraer nutrientes que servirán de abono para las plantas del jardín de su casa.

Al mismo tiempo, han aprendido que todos los seres vivos necesitamos de nutrientes para poder desarrollarnos mejor y la importancia que tiene la basura orgánica y los beneficios que aporta a nuestra naturaleza.

The children of the Elementary School Miguel Hidalgo from Oaxaca (Mexico) who work on DREAMS OF GAIA have worked in an environmental workshop, on which they have prepared "compost" (organic manure made with waste) in order to extract nutrients taht will be use as manure for their own garden plants.

At the same time, they have learned that all the living beings need the nutrients to develop better and the importance of the organic rubbish and the benefits it brings to our nature.

El grupo de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA de la Asociación Acción Solidaria de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), prepararon con materiales de deshecho, que iban a acabar en la basura, juguetes y elementos para unos juegos cooperativos y una gymkhana que van a realizar el próximo viernes 23 de mayo en el Parque de la Huerta de su localidad.

Con esta actividad aprenden a dar un nuevo y divertido uso a materiales que están destinados a la basura.

The group of DREAMS OF GAIA members of the Association “Acción Solidaria” from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) prepared several toys and elements for cooperative games using trash materials which were destinated to be throw away; this things are going to be used in a gymkhana that will be held in a park of their locality, the “Parque de la Huerta”, the next Friday 23th of May.

With this activity they will learn to give a new and funny use at trash materials.

Los niños de la Escuela Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) que forman el equipo de CHIQUI GAIA-España, han aprendido a reciclar jugando.

Con la ayuda de una mamá que trajo contenedores de reciclaje de su casa, los niños jugaron a recoger distintos tipo de basura (botellas de plástico, papel, cajas, cáscaras de plátano…) y depositarlas en el contenedor adecuado. ¡¡Y todos recibían un fuerte aplauso!!

The children of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of CHIQUI GAIA-Spain, have learned to recycle by playing.

With a mother´s help, who brought recycling containers from her house, the kids played to pick different kind of trash (plastic bottles, papers, boxes, banana peels...) and put it in the proper container; and all of them received a big applause!!

Nuestro grupo de Belgrado (Serbia) empieza sus actividades para conocer y respetar la naturaleza. Estas actividades buscan la asimilación de las rutinas de sostenibilidad del medioambiente. La manera de ahondar en este tema será a través de las películas y los libros. Al mismo tiempo, en estas actividades habrá un tema sobre el mundo animal. Montones de diferentes actividades y juegos están ya preparadas como pintar caras o talleres de dibujo. 

Belgrade's Trees Activities to know/meet the nature: These activities will be for the assimilation of sustainability routines of the environment. The way of delve into this topic will be by movies and books. At the same time, in these activities there will be a topic about the animal world. Here a lot of different games will be played such as painting faces or group workshops.

El grupo de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA de Apartadó (Colombia) sigue sus trabajos. A finales de Abril niños y padres de esta grupo participaron en un debate sobre la protección del medioambiente.

Esta actividad comenzó con una conferencia de la Doctora Diana Vargas Marín (CORPOURABA) en la que expuso los problemas que se están detectando en relación con la protección de la Naturaleza y el cambio Climático, y cómo podemos ayudar a mejorar nuestro planeta.

La experiencia fue muy enriquecedora para los participantes.

The DREAMS OF GAIA group of Apartadó (Colombia) keep on their works. At the end of April, children and parents of this group participated in a debate about the protection of the environment.

This activity began with a conference by the Dr Diana Vargas Marín (CORPOURABA), who exposed the problems which are been detected regarding to the protection of Nature and Climate Change, and how we could help to improve our planet.

The experience was very regarding for the participants.

Los niños del grupo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, siguen trabajando por el medioambiente. Con paquetes de leche ya usados se hicieron unas carteras para sus monedas y también trabajaron en un cartel para promover el cuidado de la Naturaleza.

The children of the group from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of DREAMS OF GAIA, keep working for improve the environment. They made wallets for they money using milk tetrabricks and also worked in a poster in order to promote the care of the Nature.

Los niños y niñas del Colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) se han unido a nuestra iniciativa internacional “HAZ UN GESTO POR LA PAZ Y POR EL PLANETA. Únete a los Sueños de Gaia, planta tu árbol” y han hecho una pancarta para iniciar una campaña publicitaria que anima a más gente a participar y, entre todos, poner nuestro grano de arena para mejorar nuestro planeta.

Boys and girls of the School “El Olivo” from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) have already joined to our iniciative “DO A GESTURE FOR PEACE AND THE PLANET. Join to the Dreams of Gaia, plant your tree” and they have made a banner to start a media hyped in order to encourage more people to participate and, between all of us, help to improve our planet.

En el grupo de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA de la Escuela de Enseñanza Primaria nº 665 “José Eusebio Colombres” siguen cuidando nuestro planeta TIERRA!

Utilizando latas de alimentos, cajas de distintos tamaños y papel de revistas, los niňos construyen lapiceros, floreros y ordenadores de escritorio.

The group of DREAMS OF GAIA from the Elementary School nº665 “José Eusebio Colombres” keeps on taking care our planet!

Using foodstuff´s tins, boxes of different sizes and magazine´s papers, the children have made flower vases and other fantastic things.

En Bolivia, los mas pequeñitos de Sueños de Gaia en los ensayos de la canción "El hombre y el Camaleón" (Trabajamos con esta canción el dilema entre el progreso y la naturaleza a partir de esta historia cantada donde un camaleón habla con un hombre que viene a invadir el bosque).

Esta semana en CHIQUI GAIA hemos trabajado la importancia de usa la bicicleta para no contaminar el medioambiente. Pero también hemos trabajado la educación vial y la autoprotección cuando salen a pasear por la calle. Es importante que desde pequeñitos los niños y niñas vaya asumiendo la importancia de usar medios de transporte no contaminantes, siempre que sea posible.

This week in LITTLE GAIA we have worked on the importance of using the bike for do not contaminate the enviroment. But also we have worked the driver education and the self-protection when we go for a walk. It´s important that, since they are children, the boys and girls learn about the importance of using non-polluting means of transport, if it is possible.

En esta ocasión han hecho logos del proyecto para colgar en su clase con restos de cartulinas que tenían guardadas.
