Los niños y niñas del Centro de Educación Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), del grupo de CHIQUI GAIA, siguen con sus actividades de reciclado. En esta ocasión han hecho caretas para una fiesta con periódicos viejos, que después pintaron. Los niños aprenden que todas las cosas pueden tener una segunda vida y que así protegemos la Naturaleza.

The children of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), members of the group CHIQUI GAIA, keep on their recycling activites. At this time they have made some masks for a party using old newspapers, which were painted after. The kids learn that all the things could have a second life and, by this way, they protect the Nature.

Los niños y niñas de CHIQUI GAIA, del Centro de Educación Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) para celebrar el Día Mundial del Medioambiente han plantado unas semillas que van a cuidar en un pequeño semillero. De esta forma, toman responsabilidad en el cuidado de la Naturaleza.

The boys and girls of CHIQUI GAIA, students of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) have planted some seeds they are going to care in a little pot, in order to celebrate the World Environment Day. By this way, they have took responsibility for the care of Nature.

El grupo de niños y niñas de la asociación Acción Solidaria de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), que trabaja en LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, preparó una exposición de los trabajo realizados y una muestra de cómo se puede, desde los hogares, trabajar por la Naturaleza. Además, prepararon juegos, con materiales reciclados, para que todos los asistentes pudieran disfrutar. A esta exposición y juegos fueron invitadas las familias y amigos, que pasaron una tarde muy divertida.

The group of children of the Asociation "Acción Solidaria" from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of DREAMS OF GAIA, prepared an exposition of the work done and an explample of how work for Nature is possible from home. Therefore, they prepared games with recycled materials, in order that all the people could enjoy. The families and friends of the children were invited to this exposition and games, and they had a great time. 

Actividades de Medio Ambiente / Environmental Workshops

El grupo del Colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) que trabajan en el proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, realizó actividades para conocer un poco mejor los demás países participantes. También se realizaron otras actividades para dar a conocer a familias y amigos la importancia de respetar el medioambiente. Para finalizar se dieron diplomas por el buen trabajo realizado por los niños y abrazos de alegría.

The group of the School "El Olivo" from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of the project DREAMS OF GAIA, made activities to know a bit better the rest of the participant countries; moreover, other activities were made to make known the importance of the care about the environment.

At the end, the children received diplomas due to their great work and hugs of joy.

El Árbol de Gaia que plantó el grupo del colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), que trabaja en el proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, ya está lleno de hojas, y con ese motivo el grupo organizó

una fiesta, a la que invitaron a sus padres. La fiesta tuvo de todo, juegos, pruebas familiares, películas… Además, sirvió para dar a conocer su trabajo a familiares y amigos.

The Gaia tree wchich was planted by the children of the school "El Olvio" from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), members of the project DREAMS OF GAIA, is already full of leaves; that´s why this group through a party where their parents were invited too. It was a great party, with games, familiar proofs, films... Moreover, it served to publicize their work to family and friends.

Los niños y niñas del colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe (Sevilla) prepararon una gymkana de juegos con elementos reciclados. Primero diseñaron entre todos los elementos y las pruebas y después

los hicieron. Además, trabajaron el “Respeto a las personas” con juegos cooperativos.

The boys and girls of the school "El Olivo" from Mairena del Aljarafe (Seville) prepared a gymkhana with recycled elements. First of all, they all designed the elements and the proofs, and after that, they did the gymkhana itself. Also, they learned about "Respect to people" with cooperative games.

El grupo de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA de la Asociación Acción Solidaria de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España), prepararon con materiales de deshecho, que iban a acabar en la basura, juguetes y elementos para unos juegos cooperativos y una gymkhana que van a realizar el próximo viernes 23 de mayo en el Parque de la Huerta de su localidad.

Con esta actividad aprenden a dar un nuevo y divertido uso a materiales que están destinados a la basura.

The group of DREAMS OF GAIA members of the Association “Acción Solidaria” from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) prepared several toys and elements for cooperative games using trash materials which were destinated to be throw away; this things are going to be used in a gymkhana that will be held in a park of their locality, the “Parque de la Huerta”, the next Friday 23th of May.

With this activity they will learn to give a new and funny use at trash materials.

Los niños de la Escuela Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) que forman el equipo de CHIQUI GAIA-España, han aprendido a reciclar jugando.

Con la ayuda de una mamá que trajo contenedores de reciclaje de su casa, los niños jugaron a recoger distintos tipo de basura (botellas de plástico, papel, cajas, cáscaras de plátano…) y depositarlas en el contenedor adecuado. ¡¡Y todos recibían un fuerte aplauso!!

The children of the Nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of CHIQUI GAIA-Spain, have learned to recycle by playing.

With a mother´s help, who brought recycling containers from her house, the kids played to pick different kind of trash (plastic bottles, papers, boxes, banana peels...) and put it in the proper container; and all of them received a big applause!!

Encuentro Nacional / National Meeting

La representante de nuestro proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA/CHIQUI GAIA, Mª Carmen Moreno, participó en el IV Encuentro Nacional de Docentes en Educación para el Desarrollo, celebrado en El Escorial, Madrid (España) del 9 al 11 de mayo. Nuestra representante participó activamente en el encuentro y presentó nuestro proyecto a profesores de toda España.

Carmen Moreno represented our project DREAMS OF GAIA/LITTLE GAIA in the National Meeting of Education for Development, in Madrid (Spain) from 9 to 11 of May. She presented the project to teachers from Spain.

Felicitación / Congratulation

El viernes 2 de mayo nuestra iniciativa LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA recibió la visita del Director General de Participación y Equidad de la Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía, D. Diego Ramos, quien conoció el proyecto de primera mano y felicitó a los niños y niñas por su trabajo y su compromiso.

On May the 2nd our iniciative DREAMS OF GAIA received the visit of the General Director of Participation and Equality of the Counseling of Education, Culture and Sport from the Junta de Andalucia (Regional government of Andalusia), Mr Diego Ramos, who met the project personally and congratulated to the children for their work and engagement.

Los niños del grupo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, siguen trabajando por el medioambiente. Con paquetes de leche ya usados se hicieron unas carteras para sus monedas y también trabajaron en un cartel para promover el cuidado de la Naturaleza.

The children of the group from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are members of DREAMS OF GAIA, keep working for improve the environment. They made wallets for they money using milk tetrabricks and also worked in a poster in order to promote the care of the Nature.

Los niños y niñas del Colegio El Olivo de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) se han unido a nuestra iniciativa internacional “HAZ UN GESTO POR LA PAZ Y POR EL PLANETA. Únete a los Sueños de Gaia, planta tu árbol” y han hecho una pancarta para iniciar una campaña publicitaria que anima a más gente a participar y, entre todos, poner nuestro grano de arena para mejorar nuestro planeta.

Boys and girls of the School “El Olivo” from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) have already joined to our iniciative “DO A GESTURE FOR PEACE AND THE PLANET. Join to the Dreams of Gaia, plant your tree” and they have made a banner to start a media hyped in order to encourage more people to participate and, between all of us, help to improve our planet.

ENTREVISTA: IGUALDAD ENTRE LAS PERSONAS

Niños del grupo Acción Solidaria de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) del proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA han entrevistado al responsable de la Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción (FAD), D. Alfonso Borrego.

Los niños preguntaron sobre las acciones que organiza esta ONG para fomentar la igualdad entre las personas. A lo que D Alfonso Borrego contestó que desde hace más de 20 años, la FAD realiza programas educativos que promueven la igualdad entre las personas y muy especialmente la igualdad de género, tanto en España como en muchos países de América en los que está implantada.

También le preguntaron sobre el proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA, y contestó que le parece un proyecto maravilloso, porque trabaja el respeto entre las personas, en las misma línea que lo hace la FAD y mostró su apoyo a nuestras actividades.

INTERVIEW: EQUALITY BETWEEN PEOPLE

Children of the group "Acción Solidaria" from Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain), who are participating in the project DREAMS OF GAIA have interviewed to the head of the Foundation Against Drug Addiction (FAD), D. Alfonso Borrego.

The kids asked him about the actions that this NGO organizes to promote the equality between the people. D Alfonso Borrego answered that, for more than 20 years ago, the FAD realizes educational programs that promote the equality, and especially the gender equality, both in Spain and in many Latin American countries in which it is implanted.

The children also asked him about the project DREAMS OF GAIA, and he answered that this initiative looks like a wonderful project, seeing that it works the respect between the people, in the same line as the

FAD does and he showed their support to our activities.

Evento / Event

Niños del proyecto LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA junto con una de su educadoras, Carmen Moreno, asistieron al evento “Un Spot para decir Stop” organizado por la Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción.

Los niños explicaron un poco el proyecto a los asistentes y la educadora fue miembro del “jurado experto” que valoró los video presentados al evento.

The children of the DREAMS OF GAIA´s project, with one of their educator, Carmen Moreno, attended to the event "A Spot to say Stop", organized by the Foundation Against Drug Addiction.

The kids explained a little bit the project to the audience, and the educator was a member of the "expert jury" that evaluated the videos which were presented to the event.

Esta semana en CHIQUI GAIA hemos trabajado la importancia de usa la bicicleta para no contaminar el medioambiente. Pero también hemos trabajado la educación vial y la autoprotección cuando salen a pasear por la calle. Es importante que desde pequeñitos los niños y niñas vaya asumiendo la importancia de usar medios de transporte no contaminantes, siempre que sea posible.

This week in LITTLE GAIA we have worked on the importance of using the bike for do not contaminate the enviroment. But also we have worked the driver education and the self-protection when we go for a walk. It´s important that, since they are children, the boys and girls learn about the importance of using non-polluting means of transport, if it is possible.

En el Día de la Tierra, el grupo de SUEÑOS DE GAIA de Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla (España) visitó el Parque natural de Porzuna donde pudieron ver la flora y fauna del Aljarafe Sevillano y aprender lo importante que es cuidar la Naturaleza. Provistos de unos "Cuadernos del Aventurero" recorrieron los caminos del parque y vivieron mil aventuras.

In the "Day of the Earth", the group of DREAMS OF GAIA of Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville (Spain) visited the natural park of Porzuna, where they could see the flora and fauna of the Sevillian Aljarafe; they also learned how necessary is to care the Nature. Using theirs "Adventurer´s notebooks", the children walk through the park and lived countless adventures.

Los niños y niñas de CHIQUI GAIA-España han aprendido un poco de los países que participan en el proyecto.

Se ha organizado en “Rincones de trabajo” y cada rincón estaba dedicado a un país. Las profesoras les han hablado un poco de cada país, su bandera, sus trajes típicos, costumbres…

El objetivo ha sido que conozcan un poco las costumbres y formas de vida de los niños de otros países, porque cuando se conoce a la otra persona abrimos caminos para el entendimiento y la paz.

LITTLE GAIA-SPAIN MEETS OTHER COUNTRIES

The children of LITTLE GAIA have learned a bit about the countries which take part in the project.They have been organized in workshop,and each workshop was dedicated to one of those countries. Their teachers have told them about each country: its flag, its typical costumes, its manners...The task of this has been that they meet something about the manners and lifestyle of the children who live there, because when you meet the other person, you are able to open new paths for the understanding and peace.

El grupo SUEÑOS DE GAIA del Colegio El Olivo continua elaborando los disfraces de superhéroes “Superecológicos”

En esta sesión han hecho unas armaduras con papel reciclado y las han decorado con pintura de dedos.

Además, se han comenzado con las mochilas propulsoras con botellas de refresco, cartón y papel de periódico. En cuanto se pinten estarán listas para volar.

Para terminar, los niños y niñas hicieron unos dibujos dibujándose a ellos mismos como auténticos “superecológicos”, los mayores guardianes del planeta Tierra.

Otro grupo preparó el guión de GAIA TV de abril que se rodará próximamente.

The group DREAMS OF GAIA of the school "El Olivo" keeps on making the costumes for the "Superecological" Superheroes.

In this session they have made the armors with recycled paper, painted with finger paint.

Moreover, the children are also making the jetpacks with bottles, cardboard and old newspapers. Its will be ready to fly when the children paint them.

Finally, the children made some drawings which represents to theirselves dress up as the "Superecologicals", the most important keepers of the Earth.

Other group prepared the GAIA TV´s script of April, which will be film soon.

Siguiendo con la idea de transmitir a los niños y niñas lo importante que es cuidar la naturaleza, el 1 de abril las profesoras de la Escuela Infantil MOM de Mairena del Aljarafe (España) les enseñaron que la fruta la cogemos de los árboles y, tras jugar a coger frutas, hicieron entre todos una rica macedonia que, después, se comieron. De esa forma, también dieron la bienvenida a la Primavera. APRENDER JUGANDO ES LA MEJOR MANERA DE QUE LOS NIÑOS Y NIÑAS INTERIORICEN LO IMPORTANTE QUE ES CUIDAR EN MEDIOAMBIENTE.

Following with the idea of conveying to boys and girls how necessary is look after the nature, in April the 1st the teachers of the nursery MOM from Mairena del Aljarafe (Spain) teached them that the fruit must be taken from the trees. After playing to pick up fruits, they made a delicious fruit salad that they finally ate.By this way they welcome the Spring. LEARNING BY PLAYING IS THE BEST WAY IN ORDER THAT CHILDREN INTERNALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIROMENT.

SuperEcológicos / SuperEcologicals

Un grupo de superhéroes han llegado a Mairena del Aljarafe (España) para ayudar a cuidar el medioambiente y respetar a los demás. Son los SUPERECOLÓGICOS.

Los primeros en convertirse en superhéroes han sido los niños del Colegio El Olivo.

Los niños se han convertido en auténticos superhéroes. Lo principal para un superhéroe es el disfraz que los identifican, por eso el grupo ha empezado a hacerse su propio disfraz, con máscaras de hojas secas, "Brazaletes de poder" hechos con rollos de cartón coloreados, una "mochila propulsora" hecha con botellas recicladas" y una "Armadura anticontaminación" hecha con cajas de cartón dibujadas con el logo de LOS SUEÑOS DE GAIA

Cada superhéroe tendrá un poder, por ejemplo, "Superárbol" protegería todos los árboles del planeta, "Megagotita" se comprometió a cuidar de todo el agua del planeta sin contaminarla o "Reciclón" que se encargaría de reciclar todo lo que tocara sus manos.

A group of Superehores has arrived to Mairena del Aljarafe (Spain); their mission: help to take care of the enviroment and respect to the others. They are the SUPERECOLOGICALS!!

The first children to become Superheroes have been the boys and girls of the School "El Olivo".

Those children have become in real Superherores. The most important thing for a Superhero is his/her costume which identify him/her, that´s why the group started to make their own costumes. They used dry leaves to made masks; cardboard rolls for stunning "Bracelets of Power"; a jetpack made using recycling bottles and an "Anticontamination Armor", using cardboard boxes with the logo of DREAMS OF GAIA drew in it.

Each Superhero will have a special power: "Supertree" will protect all

the trees of the planet, "Megadrop" engagement to take care of all the

world´s water, avoiding its contamination; or "Recyclon", who will

recycle everything he could.
